Swiggy food delivery: what you need

Swiggy is food delivery, and it is open to riders without their own vehicle: a rented bike, e-bike or cycle is fine.

  • On a cycle you don't need a driving licence.
  • On a motor vehicle you need one.
  • Everyone needs a bank account, an Aadhaar card or Voter ID, and a PAN card.

You pick your hours too: Swiggy offers part-time and full-time shifts.

Swiggy pay, penalties and the fee

Swiggy pays by the number of deliveries you complete. Your city matters too. Money is transferred to your bank account every week.

A reported example from Delhi, not a rate: during an Indian Express reporter's three days of delivery work in January 2026, one shift of 6 deliveries earned ₹114. Penalties for turned-down orders cut that figure. It is one shift, not a typical full day, but it shows that refusing orders can cost you.

Onboarding fee: Swiggy says it is around ₹1,500, varies by city, and is deducted in instalments after you join. You don't pay it upfront. Read our joining fees guide before you pay any fee to anyone.
