What quick commerce delivery is
You collect packed orders at a store and ride them out to customers. The trips in our reported examples were short: about 0.8 km to about 3.9 km from Swiggy Instamart's Kalkaji store.
Each company sets the work up its own way:
- Blinkit: your own two-wheeler, age 18 or more, an Android phone with internet. Background verification and onboarding training come before your first order.
- Zepto: a smartphone and a two-wheeler, with running costs paid by you, unless Zepto provides a cycle or e-cycle.
- Swiggy Instamart: a bike, e-bike or cycle, and a rented one is fine. No driving licence needed on a cycle or EV.
- Amazon Now: work comes in blocks, usually 4 hours long, booked in the Amazon Flex app when blocks are free.
- Flipkart Minutes: background verification and training in the Flipkart Delivery Partners app. In some cities riders can rent an electric two-wheeler through Flipkart's EV Assist.
- BB Now: a smartphone for the bigbasket delivery rider app, a profile verified with identity proof, and training before you start.
How quick commerce pay works
Most of these companies pay for each delivery and add extras on top:
- Blinkit: a per-packet model, plus incentives for the weight you carry and the distance you cover. Paid weekly. Blinkit also mentions a joining bonus and a referral bonus.
- Swiggy Instamart: depends on your city, how many orders you deliver, and incentives and bonuses. You can see it in the app every day; the money comes weekly.
- Zepto: a service fee per task, worked out from distance, time taken, demand, traffic, weather and customer rating. Paid weekly after taxes, and customer tips go to you.
- Amazon Now: paid per delivery as part of the block's earnings; waiting time between deliveries is covered by the block's minimum pay. Money can reach your bank as early as the next day.
- Flipkart Minutes: Flipkart says payouts are not linked to how fast you deliver.
- BB Now: ask about pay when our team calls.
Reported examples from reporters' own shifts in Delhi (not rates, not averages):
- Blinkit: ₹313.27 for 11 deliveries between 1 pm and 7 pm on 10 January 2026, during an Indian Express reporter's shift. One six-hour shift, not a full day.
- Blinkit: ₹33.11 for one delivery of about 2.5 km plus stairs in Vasant Kunj, including a weight-based incentive.
- Swiggy Instamart: ₹15 per order for two short orders (about 0.8 km and 1 km), ₹29 for an order about 3.3 km away (there and back), and ₹34 for a night-time order about 3.9 km away. These come from a reporter's test deliveries from the Kalkaji store in May 2026.
In these examples the longer trips paid more, but each figure is one order, not a fixed rate.
Who quick commerce suits
- You prefer short trips close to one store. The reported orders were all a few kilometres or less.
- You don't own a bike. Swiggy Instamart takes a cycle or a rented EV, Zepto may provide a cycle or e-cycle, and Flipkart Minutes riders in some cities can rent an electric two-wheeler.
- You like fixed blocks of time. Amazon Now books work in blocks, usually 4 hours long.
- You don't mind weight and stairs. Blinkit pays incentives by weight, and the Vasant Kunj example included stairs.

- Swiggy Instamart charges an onboarding fee that varies by city and store, paid upfront or in instalments from your earnings.
- Zepto may charge onboarding and training fees plus a refundable security deposit, cut from your payouts. Replacing a damaged Zepto t-shirt or bag can also cost a fee.
