What a Rapido Captain does
A Captain gives rides on a bike through the Rapido Captain app. Besides rides, Captains can also take parcel, food and grocery deliveries.
Rapido's list of requirements is long, so check it before you apply:
- At least 18 years old, with a valid driving licence and at least 2 years of driving experience
- No pending challans on the vehicle
- No conviction or pending case for drunk driving or serious crimes in the past 3 years
- Consent to police verification and a background check
- Vehicle with valid fitness certificate, insurance, pollution certificate (PUC) and permits
- A 30-hour induction training before onboarding
No bike of your own? In Delhi, Rapido also rents out EVs.
How Rapido pays
How Rapido pay works:
- Fare per ride: you earn the fare for each ride.
- Captain wallet: Rapido collects the fare from the customer and adds it to your wallet. You move the money to your bank account from there.
- Hours: no fixed shift, with a cap of 12 hours online per day.
Fees: Rapido says joining as a Captain is free of cost. But its Captain terms allow it to charge Captains fees or a subscription shown in the app, plus taxes. Check what the app shows before you count your earnings.
